About the Old Capitol Quilters Guild
The Old Capitol Quilters Guild of Iowa City, Iowa, established in 1981, is made up of over 120 quilters who share a love of quilts and quilting. Members' interests vary from traditional to modern and contemporary, art quilts, pieced, applique, large to miniature. Quilters of all levels are welcome.
Meetings: Held monthly on the second Monday of the month, September through July.
Location: Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2301 E. Court St. (corner of 1st Ave. and Court St.) in Iowa City.
Because of construction at Our Redeemer Church,
the monthly OCQG meeting on Monday, May 13,
will be held at the Coralville Public Library, Room A.
It will start earlier than usual (6:30 pm) and end at 8:30 pm.
We provide speakers and workshops to inspire our creativity and improve our technical skills. Small groups, monthly meetings/workshops, retreats, quilt shows, and community service projects all provide the opportunity to develop friendships, enjoy fellowship, and contribute to our community.
The monthly meeting will not be held if Iowa City schools are cancelled because of bad weather during the day.
